
田箫鸣 旅美男中音歌唱家、声乐教育家、音乐研究者及独立音乐人,拥有纽约市立大学研究生中心全额奖学金音乐博士学位,以及美国曼哈顿音乐学院歌剧演唱硕士学位。他曾两度获得全额奖学金,入选美国西部音乐节(Music Academy of the West)青年艺术家计划,师从世界著名女中音歌唱家Marilyn Horne(玛丽莲·霍恩),并成为其中国关门弟子。
他曾荣获首届中国声乐大赛“孔雀奖”金奖、Sinovision C.S.O.C. 大赛总冠军等多个国际奖项。演出足迹遍及卡内基音乐厅、林肯中心、巴克莱中心等世界知名舞台,广受好评。纽约资深乐评人Meche女士评价其“嗓音如天鹅绒般柔润,技术精湛”。其艺术活动亦被纽约中文电视台、《纽约会客室》、《Cheers!留学生》、《侨报》等媒体专题报道。
作为具有十多年丰富经验的声乐教师,他的教学对象涵盖儿童、青少年及成人,对各年龄阶段的嗓音特性具备深入理解。他亦曾长期担任大型合唱团的声乐指导,擅长因材施教,提升学生在合唱与独唱中的综合表现力。近年来,他的线上教学吸引了来自中国、英国及美国多个州的学生,获得高度评价。
2020年起,他创办音乐教学频道“和弦的乐趣 Chord To Joy”,面向全球中文音乐爱好者。该频道以系统的声乐训练、趣味化的教学内容、专业化的表达方式,迅速积累了广泛影响力,目前全网粉丝累计已超过十五万,视频浏览量突破一千多万次,成为极具代表性的华语声乐教学频道之一。
在学术研究方面,田博士专注于跨文化声乐教学法、语调与旋律的融合机制及中文艺术歌曲的音韵结构分析。他的跨领域研究获得2024年度Hampsong Fellowship研究奖和Soundtype Fellowship学术奖,受邀于第50届美国音乐学会年会(SAM)发表专题演讲,并将于2025年在卡内基梅隆大学举办的“第二十届艺术与社会国际学术会议”上发表最新研究成果。
Dr. Xiaoming Tian is a baritone opera singer, vocal educator, music scholar, and independent musician based in the United States. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the CUNY Graduate Center, where he studied on a full scholarship, and a Master of Music degree in Opera Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. He was twice awarded full scholarships to attend the prestigious Music Academy of the West as part of its Young Artists Program, studying under the world-renowned mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne and becoming her final Chinese protégé.
Dr. Tian has received numerous international awards, including the Gold Prize at the inaugural Chinese Vocal Competition (Peacock Award) and the Grand Champion title at the Sinovision C.S.O.C. Competition. He has performed at some of the world’s most renowned venues, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Barclays Center, earning acclaim for his artistry. Veteran New York music critic Meche praised his “velvety voice and masterful technique.” His work has been featured by media outlets such as SinoVision TV, New York Lounge, Cheers! International Students, and The China Press.
With over a decade of teaching experience, Dr. Tian has worked with students across all age groups, including children, adolescents, and adults. He possesses deep insight into the vocal development characteristics of each stage and has also served as vocal coach for large choirs. His adaptive and student-centered methods have helped learners achieve expressive growth in both solo and ensemble settings. In recent years, his online lessons have attracted students from China, the United Kingdom, and across the United States, earning wide recognition for their quality and impact.
In 2020, Dr. Tian launched his vocal education channel Chord To Joy, which caters to Chinese-speaking music learners around the world. Known for its structured vocal training, engaging instructional style, and professional presentation, the channel has rapidly grown in influence. It now boasts over 150,000 followers across platforms, with total viewership exceeding 10 million, making it one of the most prominent Mandarin-language vocal education channels online.
Dr. Tian’s academic research focuses on cross-cultural vocal pedagogy, the intersection of tonal contour and melodic structure, and the phonological analysis of Chinese art songs. His interdisciplinary work has earned him the 2024 Hampsong Fellowship and the Soundtype Fellowship for music research. He was invited to present at the 50th Annual Meeting of the Society for American Music and is scheduled to share his latest findings at the Twentieth International Conference on the Arts in Society, hosted by Carnegie Mellon University in 2025.
